Vendredi Mindful Wine Tasting and Music Meditation

Today, on the last day of this workshop, we are going to mindfully find out more about one of the products that our region is famous for – wine – using all 5 our senses.

So join us at 10h00, after you have helped yourself to breakfast (available from 9h30), on the front porch from where we will be leaving for the ancient hilltop village of Saint Mont and the Plaimont wine cellars at the foot of the hill, where you will be able to mindfully taste a variety of wines.  For more information about Saint Mont, its wine and its wine producers, click here to read an excellent article in English. Before we go to the cellars to taste the wines of Saint Mont, we are going to visit the Saint Mont village that is nearly a thousand years old. Benedictine monks founded the Saint Mont Monastery in 1050 and promptly started planting vineyards. The monastery’s vineyard is still in production today. The village of Saint Mont, with its 350 inhabitants, defiantly clings to the only hill in the vast, and very flat, Adour river valley. The river itself runs past the foot of this hill,  or “mont”. The Monastery, an imposing 12th-century building, sits squarely on the very top of the hill.

The abbey is open to the public and we suggest that you spend a few minutes inside doing a music meditation. Music and meditation are integral parts of the abbey’s history, what better place to discover music meditation?
