Good morning, we hope you had a great night’s sleep and welcome to your last day at Les Sources Sacrées!
- Breakfast: 9h30
- Class: 10h00 Mindfulness Practice – Wine Tasting, Music Meditation
- Dinner: 19h30
- Tomorrow: Breakfast at 9h30, end of workshop: 11h00
Today, on the last day of this workshop, we are going to mindfully find out more about one of the products that our region is famous for – wine – using all 5 our senses.
So join us at 10h00, after you have helped yourself to breakfast (available from 9h30), on the front porch from where we will be leaving for the ancient hilltop village of Saint Mont and the Plaimont wine cellars at the foot of the hill, where you will be able to mindfully taste a variety of wines. For more information about Saint Mont, its wine and its wine producers, click here to read an excellent article in English. You can also read a short article about how to taste wine mindfully here. If you want to use an app on your phone to help you taste and document wine, there is a very good list of wine tasting apps here.
To help you make the most of today’s mindfulness practice, three links:

From our Resources Page, you can download a Red/White Wine Tasting Sheet, a Glossary of Wine Terminology, a Guide on How to read a Wine Label, a French/English Dictionary of Wine Terminology and a Guide to Wine Tasting. The password is the same as the password for the wifi.
Before we go to the cellars to taste the wines of Saint Mont, we are going to visit the Saint Mont village that is nearly a thousand years old. Benedictine monks founded the Saint Mont Monastery in 1050 and promptly started planting vineyards. The monastery’s vineyard is still in production today. The village of Saint Mont, with its 350 inhabitants, defiantly clings to the only hill in the vast, and very flat, Adour river valley. The river itself runs past the foot of this hill, or “mont”. The Monastery, an imposing 12th-century building, sits squarely on the very top of the hill.
The abbey is open to the public and we suggest that you spend a few minutes inside doing a music meditation. Music and meditation are integral parts of the abbey’s history, what better place to discover music meditation?
“Music… will help dissolve your perplexities and purify your character and sensibilities, and in time of care and sorrow, will keep a fountain of joy alive in you.” – Dietrich Bonhoeffer
To get the most from your music meditation, read the Music Meditation chapter in your Mindfulness and Meditation in the South of France e-book again as well as the What is Music Meditation? page on this website.
Many of our workshop participants have found this Youtube video ideal for their music meditation in the Abbey:
If you can not access Youtube videos on your phone/tablet while we are at the abbey, please let me know and I will email you the video above as a mp3 to download. If you can access youtube videos on your phone/tablet away from our wifi, you can choose one of the recordings on my Meditation Music Playlist on Youtube. You will also find Guided Music Meditations on this playlist.
Take a music bath once or twice a week for a few seasons. You will find it is to the soul what a water bath is to the body. – Oliver Wendell Holmes
Have a great time on your last field trip!
If you have a bit of free time after the afternoon session and dinner, you might want to access our Resources Page and download Jon Kabat-Zinn’s excellent book, Mindfulness Meditation for Everyday Life.
Our final celebration dinner will be ready at 19h30.
Tomorrow, we will put breakfast out at 9h00 as usual. The workshop officially finishes at 11h00. If you need a lift to Nogaro to catch the bus, please let us know this evening.
- If you are interested in booking a 1/3/6 month coaching program, now would be a good time to ask any questions that you may have about the program.
- If you are staying on for a Private VIP Day or a Group VIP Day, I’ll e-mail you tomorrow’s program.
- If you are staying on for a couple of days’ bed-and-breakfast, we will be very happy to discuss the region’s main attractions at length and in detail this evening.
We hope with all our hearts that you have had an absolutely wonderful time!
