Touched by a Horse one-day Workshops

Several of my friends here in France have suggested that I do non-residential one-day retreats so that they can find out exactly what it is that I do with my horses! Always eager to please, I have created the Touched by a Horse one-day Workshops as an introduction to two of the most popular features of my residential retreats: Equine-assisted Personal Development and Equine-guided Mindfulness Meditation.

This one-day workshop is designed to help participants dramatically increase their self-confidence, improve their communication skills and enable them to significantly lower their stress levels by connecting with my horses in an enriching, compelling and transformational way.

Bettina G smlThank you so much for the beautiful day on Saturday. It was a truly special and treasurable experience that I feel very lucky to have had. Your horses are such lovely characters and it was fun getting to know them a little. They have stayed in my mind. I would love to come back again sometime. Bettina G.

The day starts at 10h00 with a quick cup of coffee or tea before we set off on foot in the company of the horses for a walking mindfulness meditation session through the surrounding vineyards, woods, sunflower fields and meadows.

Our walk is followed by an introduction to equine-assisted personal development and empowerment. It is important to take two things on board here:

  1. No experience of horses is necessary to benefit from these sessions
  2. No riding is involved during this one-day retreat.

You can find out more about equine-assisted personal empowerment by clicking on the link. The session consists of an active interaction phase followed by a debriefing phase.

At 13h00 we break for a light lunch and usually a very animated discussion of the day’s events so far.

At 14h00 we reconvene for an equine guided meditation session. Click on the link to find out more about this meditation method.

At 16h00 we meet again under Merlin, our 200+-year old oak tree for a question-and-answer opportunity and a cup of tea.

The retreat formally ends at 17h00, but participants are welcome to spend some more time with the horses – they always appreciate a goodbye cuddle from their visitors at the end of the day.

The cost of the workshop is 75 euro per person for the whole day, including the tea/coffee, the walk with the horses, the equine-assisted personal development session, the lunch, the equine guided mindfulness meditation and the tea with a question-and-answer session. Alternatively, a half-day retreat can be booked, either for the morning (as described above) or for the afternoon (also as described above), both without lunch, for 50 euro per person.

If you would like to attend a workshop, please email me at welcome2gascony{at] Registration is possible until 24 hours before the workshop starts. Numbers are limited.

All participants will receive an e-mail the day beforehand, clarifying what to bring, how to dress and how to remain safe around the horses.

If you would like to be informed of scheduled day retreats, early-bird or last-minute discounts on workshops and the publication of new books and blog posts, please subscribe to my mailing list by clicking here or at the top of this page, on the left.
