Navigating Unchartered Territory

2021 has barely begun and we are facing yet another “confinement sérré (strict)” here in the south of France. We already have a couvre-feu (curfew) from 18h00 to 08h00, but this has not succeeded in lowering our numbers, so it very much looks as if we are in for another full lockdown. In the deep and dark heart of the winter.

We really have been navigating unchartered territory in leaking boats and without a compass, since all this started mid-March last year, haven’t we?

I don’t want to dwell on the past though, as “my interest is in the future because I am going to spend the rest of my life there,” as Charles F. Kettering so aptly declared. The way we live our lives has changed dramatically and will no doubt continue to change in 2021. Long before all this started I create my Coping with Challenges and Change Cheatsheet and Checklist – that you can download HERE) and I now have to apply it to the changes I have to make in running the retreats the way I usually do here in the south of France.

To enable us to cope with change, we have to be flexible. Since I do not know when I will be able to host residential retreats again, I am now going to make my retreats available online. Talk about navigating unchartered waters – it has been a steep learning curve. In the face of change, I always advise my retreatants to review the skills, knowledge and experience they already have and to apply those to their new circumstances. This time it was my turn, and after a month of working at it, I am now ready to host one of my retreats online. This retreat, The Discover Your True Purpose Virtual Retreat will be available for booking from the 10th of February.

I love creating retreats so I have a lot of fun putting this together. My purpose in life is to help others, and with this retreat I know I will be able to make a difference to many people’s lives. I have created a Facebook group called “We Live Purposeful, Meaningful and Fulfilling Lives” where I will run pre-retreat challenges so that anyone interested in booking a virtual retreat can get a feeling of what to expect.

You will still be navigating uncharted territory on stormy seas, but knowing what your purpose is will provide you with a compass so that you do not lose your way.

More about the benefits of knowing what your life’s purpose is tomorrow.
