Top 10 blog posts of 2015

Even though I have not been blogging for very long, since June last year, I seem to have written nearly 100 posts now – where I found the time I honestly don’t know anymore. I do love writing and when I am writing, time flies by unnoticed, which might have something to do with it.

Looking back at those 100 posts, there are at least 10 that stand out very clearly. These are the ten posts with the most likes and comments – one was even voted favourite post in a link-up that featured nearly 400 other posts, another got more than 1100 views on the day it was posted, one has had more than a thousand views on Stumble upon and another went viral on Facebook and Twitter.

As this blog was created to promote my Equine-guided Mindfulness Meditation Retreats, I mostly write about related subjects: mindfulness, meditation, horses, our region in the south-west of France etc. Interestingly, without me really planning to do so, I found myself writing often about midlife. At 49 I am well-qualified to write about it, which has inspired me to specialise in retreats for women of the midlife (35 onwards) age group. So the first 5 of my top ten posts of 2015 are about women and about midlife:

To learn how to write better blog posts, I am taking the Blogging 101 course at the moment and I hope that in 2016 I will write many more posts like the ones above, only much better.

  1. I only recently found your blog so it’s nice to see a roundup of all your best posts. Can’t wait to read them all. I found this post through the #PitStop links – it’s my first time there as well. I’d love to hear more about your writing class – I’m always anxious to improve my own writing.

    1. HI Katy, love your writing, no need to do anything about it. Just wish I hadn’t seen that post about the push-ups – nearly died trying to do one earlier! But I’m joining you, as you say baby steps…

    1. It is an amazing video, each time I see it, I tear up again! I’m much better, thank you. I am a bit fed up with the weather here: rain and mud and mud and rain…We managed to get Leo’s (our rescue horsie) rug on him this morning by first putting one on Belle right next to him. Took about 20 minutes of careful try-and-try again, but at least now he will stay dry – it has a neck panel too. Blogging 101 is an eye opener, so glad I am doing it. I found your post about the election very interesting – let’s hope for better days for Greece! at least maybe the government won’t work actively against investors and work providers any longer. How are things with you, Marina?

      1. Tough; we have a family business and it’s hard keeping it afloat. My husband and two sons all work together. But the sun shines, I have two great daughters in law and five grandchildren, so can’t complain!
